Greetings, LOTRO addicts of all ages, shapes and sizes!
As of today, I invite you to capture a screen shot of anything you like, drop it into Photoshop, and re-size it to either 800x600 or 1600x1200. Now get to work adding effects! You can change the color scheme, layer over it, blend it with other images, and/or add text to it in order to create your own stellar wallpaper to share with other players.
Once you're happy with your creation, mail it to billmiller@gmx.com by September 1, 2010, and prior to the launch of F2P your new wallpaper will be posted online in a special dedicated gallery with countless new wallpapers submitted by other players.
The whole idea here is to establish, over time, a vast database of player-created wallpapers for other players to chose from and incorporate into their own desktop themes. Get sick of the one you chose? Well, head back to the gallery and select a new one! Of course I realize that this gallery might have some stiff competition from the upcoming wave of official post-F2P wallpapers, but there's no reason the LOTRO community can't add our own artistic interpretations of the game to the mix while all of this is going on.

The only really important rules here are to not use any copyrighted material from outside the LOTR or LOTRO universes, and to have fun while doing this.
