Don't you LOVE grinding Sword Halls for those all important DG tokens and iXP in Easy mode? Me nether. Playing in this place fighting the same mobs for 7-10x runs in a row gets extremely boring. Sword Halls has a lot of potential, why not spice it up a bit?
Here's my suggestion: Create a list of 'challenges' in Sword Halls mode. In this, you could fight against any signature elite mob in the game, giving yourself not only a chance to kill a really hard mob that you've found challenging and interesting, but also allow you and your fellows a chance to 'practice' new tactics and try out new skills. You could even make it a Tiering up system, where you start with simpler bosses and work your way up the chain. You would gain ixp/runes accordingly depending on the current mob you are facing. The instance would also be scalable for solo all the way up to a 24-man raid.
I realize some people may think this may dissuade people from doing the actual (sometimes long) instances, but the rewards & experience people get on those classic-spaces would remain the same. This space could give players a chance to 'play' around with new ideas, strategies, etc, all the while giving players iXP in the process.
Another suggestion is, you could make a 'survival mode' (sort of like the Barrow Downs Skirmish) where more and more mobs come out of the doors the longer you survive. Survive for an hour and get an relic reward bonus!
I feel that with a new system in place, Sword Halls might actually be fun to grind out a few times a week.
