Good generic rant post title eh?
OK basically I have a good rig, Win 7 64-bit, Crosshair I, 4GB good Corsair RAM, Radeon 4890, 850W PSU, fresh install, updated drivers, and lately (past 2 months) I have been getting random crashes of 3 different types:
1) The game freezes up and it's not a typical lost internet connection type disco, where I am running in place - my graphics stay up but the screen is frozen. Pop out to desktop where I find the "Lotroclient.exe has stopped working" Windows error message. Meanwhile my fellowship/raid has wiped (I'm a Guardian).
When I launch the game I notice. "Cleaning Up Old Connection" message prior to the character selection screen.
2) The good 'ol BSOD with some memory exception error (I will save and post the next one).
3) Kick out to LOTRO black screen with a server disconnection message.
Now I know this isn't a DxDiag dump and very little to go on, sure I can post all that, but what is your quick gut response to these types of crashes? Am I crashing my modem/router? Is my video card getting too hot (don't think so)? Background programs running/launching/competing for bandwidth (don't think so, have run with and without GameBooster)? Dx10 issue (have tried turning it off)? Some mystical driver/HW/SW incompatibility issue?
Trolling for a quick fix. Thanks.
