Hello all.
Imma be straight up honest... I haven't paid a cent for this game and I'm the kind of person who would level all the way to 65 unlocking minimal content farming TP on alts etc. without EVER paying to play AT ALL. It is therefore logical to deduce that I am not a valuable customer (or at least, don't plan to be). But I don't feel that completely nulls my opinions.
I free trial'd LOTRO for a week or two (w/e it was) about 2-3 years ago and I really enjoyed the PvMP. I'm really a PvP'er to the bone. But from my experience with pretty much every other MMO, "PvP'ers to the bone" are pretty much a MINORITY, and I'm sure its the same on LOTRO. Which is why I am utterly surprised that this is the ONLY aspect of the game that is not actually F2P.
Really? Like seriously? Again I really am just a "nobody" on this game so take what I'm saying here with a grain of salt, but I have been a "somebody" on other games. Most notably WoW (I could toot my own horn here and say my accomplishments but half of you wouldn't understand what I'm talking about and the other half wouldn't believe me). Anyways thats not the point.
The point is that I simply do not understand. When the majority of players don't really even care about PvP, why have it be the only thing locked out in F2P? I will say that this is the ONE thing that WOULD get someone like me to pay to play (actually, I'm not going to, but still). But I just know this is not true for most of the community.
So... Whyyy!? It does not make sense.
Is the population imbalance thing the only reason for this? Will it get changed in the future?
Sorry for the post being kind of repetitive; I felt like I had more to say when I started writing it, but I guess my surprise, disappointment, and lack of understanding seemed bigger and more pertinent in my head than it actually is. I also feel somewhat picked-on, and I'm not even one of the PvMP'ers that are actually paying to do it!
