So, I'm making the mail run from Stock to Budgeford and I get to the spot where you cross the Water, leap with all my might over that little deep stretch ... and the game hiccups, I do a little rubberband impersonation then "plop" right into the middle of deepest part with a heart-wrenching "kersplash." My satchel floats downstream and all the mail gets soaked. I'll be picking up soggy letters for hours along the shore. I'm so in for a lecture from the postmaster. Think he'll believe me when I say it really wasn't my fault?
To make matters even worse, I'm still standing there, cursing my misfortune as I watch my satchel drift away, when one of the Big People comes along with his long legs and makes the jump with no problems at all. *sigh*
Ironically, that is the first time in days I've had any issues with lag. Lousy timing, indeed!
