This is a repeatable issue. Basically, every time I zone into an instance or interior area, I will get a 1-2 second long pause shortly after. I haven't really been able to see whether or not it reoccurs after the initial one. It MAY happen outdoors, but with how often this game stutters and pauses, it's nearly impossible to tell.
Specs are as follows
AMD Phenom II x6 1055T
2x2GB Kingston DDR3 1333mhz (9-9-9-24)
ATI Radeon HD 5770 (running 10.9 drivers)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 (suffers from issue)
Western Digital Caviar Green (haven't tried this drive, but it's a piece of garbage for gaming so I'd rather not)
All running on Windows 7 x64 with most recent updates.
I've also just recently reinstalled windows after formatting the seagate drive, and I've disabled things like search indexing and windows defender. No benefit from any of this. Only have bare bones applications running, like Steam and Catalyst Control Center, and then whatever runs by default in Windows 7.
Things I've done:
1. I've run memtest86+ for 9 hours with no errors.
2. I've run HD Tune Pro benchmarks, checked smart status, and scanned for bad sectors on both drives (everything performs within specifications)
3. I've also run several benchmarks, like 3dmark vantage, to see if the issue is present in these games. It is not, and all of my scores are within specifications.
4. Underclocked GPU to stock clocks (it is factory OC'd)
5. Disabling Aero
6. Updating drivers on EVERYTHING from southbridge to USB to NIC
At this point I'm just hopelessly confused. I used to get a similar issue with my Western Digital drive, but it was caused by the drive parking it's heads due to the intellipower feature. Disabling that fixed it for every other game, but since lotro runs on the seagate drive which has no such feature, I don't know what to say.
Please help!
