There is a large community of LOTRO screenshot artists. We're the ones showing up at gatherings and taking screenshots, or just snapping pics of that perfect sunrise. Those both seem to work out pretty well. The type of screenshots that are harder to take is the combat screenshot.
The problem is that even with all UI elements turned off and names removed via "f12" and "n" key, you still get the selection rings. These remove from the immersiveness of the screenshots. Also, effects such as disease/poison, and some skills like warden gambit builders provide visual cues that the skill is going off, but are not necessarily what I want in a screenshot.
Currently, you can turn off much of this via the options screen. However, you can't bind keys to them. So you either have to live without these effects until you turn them on (no rings is really tough!) or you just try to deselect your target prior to taking the screenshot.
A better solution is to implement a combat-print button. This command would print the screen without the UI, Names, or showy combat effects. I've had a similar command on another game (was it Eve?) and it was a great help in getting awesome combat shots without getting creamed. Currently, I have a little macro that does "f12"+"n"+"printscreen"+"f12"+ "n" to take a combat screenshot. That works ok, but Ive still got rings and disease effects showing.
In short, give us a way to separate what we see when we play vs. what we see when we hit print screen. Barring that, at least make all the ui elements bindable to keys so we can turn everything off and then on again via 3rd party macros.
